Sustainability
In order to offer an environmentally friendly and sustainable nature experience, the work with Trakt Forest Hotel has been done based on carefully selected material choices. This is reflected, among other things, in cooking with locally produced ingredients, with fire-damaged timber in the Timmerhuset and thermal wood insulation. The forest suites are carefully placed on poles in nature to create a minimal impact on the surrounding nature.
A sustainable experience
Working sustainable is a given here at Trakt Forest Hotel. In 2022, we underwent a review of our sustainability work with Agenda 2030 in collaboration with Almi.
From the start of Trakt we have been careful to make use of what already exists, eg. in the form of recycling. Both in terms of fire-damaged timber for the log house and reused furniture in the restaurant. We have used local craftsmen to benefit the businesses we have in our vicinity.
We work with local ingredients as much as possible when we cook for our guests and work based on what is in season. This means, among other things, that there is no orange juice on our breakfast menu and that there are not always tomatoes in the salad.
We are also very conscious to choose suppliers with the same sustainable ideas as us. Our wine comes from organic certified vinyards, and our apple juices comes from a neighbouring town that has been granted a IP sigill for their orchard.
We have charging stations where our hotel guests can charge their electric cars.
Right now we are also part of a research project where a researcher from Linnaeus University is investigating how the forest affects health. Here, as a guest, you can participate and contribute, click on the link and read more.
