Tyra’s Farmhouse

Tyra’s is named after great-aunt Tyra who lived in the house. Tyra’s parents built the cottage to use as a retirement home when their son Erik got married and took over the farm. Unfortunately, Tyra’s parents passed away before the cottage was completed.

Tyra grew up on the farm with her brother Erik. Throughout her life, she worked as a housekeeper on other farms in Småland. When it was time to enjoy her retirement, she returned to her beloved Sällehägnad, the farm’s original name. The small house on the farm suited Tyra well, here she could bake her cookies and cinnamon buns in the wood-fired stove that still exists today.
